South Haven is the southern side of the entrance to Poole Harbour and lies at the tip of the Studland Peninsular. Held by the National Trust and much of the peninsular is a Nature Reserve and SSSI. Occupied by the military during WW2 and used as a pracitise gunnery and bombing range in preparation for D-Day.

The sandy beaches on the seaward side are some of best in the country very popular with sun bathers.
